"The Count of Monte Cristo" -  Dust Jacket for a Book

The design of the dust jacket represents the metamorphosis that the main character Edmund goes through - from a sailor to a count. I used the layout of a playing card to illustrate the concept including key elements: the captain hat becomes a top hat and the sword transforms into a cane. 

Signature elements from the beginning of the 19th century are present - the decorations in the top right and bottom left corner which are also on the back cover. The font of the title is also in the style of the 19th century, capturing the essence of the time.
